THE CYDONIA FRAGMENT

A HAUNTING LUNAR RELIC
A visceral intersection of surrealism and structural defiance, The Cydonia Fragment draws from the skeletal, eerie landscapes of Zdzisław Beksiński. This piece acts as a “found object” from the lunar surface—a haunting fusion of biological forms and industrial wreckage that challenges the boundaries of traditional couture.
The foundation is a sleek red neoprene silhouette, providing a sharp, industrial contrast to the organic teal coque feathers that animate the hem. The chest features a complex alchemical centerpiece: a hand-painted silicon face mounted upon a recycled plastic water bottle base, encased in jagged black glass fragments and high-gloss resin. Erupting from the skull is a monumental cloud of hand-pleated and sculpted silk organza, representing a cerebral explosion of creative energy. The back of the dress serves as the piece’s final mystery, where painterly hand-beaded tulle floats forward to veil the face in a haunting, diaphanous shroud.
