THE DOGON DRESS
The Dogon motif piece is a colourful depiction of indigenous African art revisioned and used as an adornment.
The full-length dress in khaki green silk crepe with a front leg slit is beautified with scenic layers of hand-painted green silk organza leaves and a rich purple velvet shawl-inspired back drape.
The leaf scene displays a hand-painted and hand-embroidered pygmy man wearing a war mask. The pygmy war mask is from Angelo Fair’s own artwork. The colourful handwork is inspired by the paintings of Chagall.
